iPod

It is scary to find creepy people mug someone for their iPod though comparatively okay for their presence on the subway. They are most likely to be stolen by muggers because of their popularity, especially with new models like the iPod Nano or the video iPod. Muggers take someone else’s free iPod rather than purchasing one or searching online.

Some prime cities have established descriptive guidelines for protecting themselves and their iPods because of the high frequency of thefts. Statistics of the number of iPods stolen are given in these flyers. Out of only 15 reported robberies in San Francisco, one claimed 11% were iPods. Using regular headphones rather than white pieces was suggested by people to make it obscure. The muggers will not easily get the iPods from someone smart enough to properly conceal the iPod.

Learning to use a new iPod is frustrating though easily possible to hide. The stacks of music that continue to be unripped and the unrealistic expectations of the loading method are the problems of new users. If the owner of iPod nano gives him/herself enough time to load the songs, he/she can access thousands of songs on their iPods. It is unnecessary to load a whole library of songs at one go because of the possibility of loading music onto the new iPod in increments. A better collection is possible when loading the iPod for the growth of iTunes collection.  Failure is not indicated by an incomplete library. To enjoy an iPod, you don’t need to rip an entire CD collection. Consider that you can only listen to one song at any time.

As people grow and change, don’t be attached to older music. If musical tastes have changed over time, don’t feel obligated to the older collection by refusing the newer collection. CDs of the former from around a decade might assist a past connection. The digitization of the 80s and 90s CDs will not be checked by anyone.

Without committing, you can test the new music on the iTunesb by the new play lists and listen to the free 30-second samples. Remember that iTunes offer free tracks every Tuesday leading to enjoy new artists and styles on your iPod. Enjoy infinite number of free pod casts on the new iPod and if possible, watch TV and movies on your owned 5G or newer unit if it is too burdensome to confront a CD collection. iPOds are not the be-all and end-all of music or be wrapped and unused on coffee tables.

Is the spotlight truly stolen by the Lifepop Stereo Pet Carrier? It is really a very cool accessory compatible with iPod though the answer is a possible no. To carry the pooch rocking to iPod music or miserably whimpering to your listening of the old music collection, it can be used. It is just a soft padded bag with built-in speakers and a mini-plug to be hooked to the iPod with a fully zippered ventilated top for breathing while grooving.

Definition of ipod

We are marching into an age of even more advanced technology than before and the comfort levels that these gadgets are generating have become a standard feature. One of these familiar gizmos is the iPod; how does one define the iPod? It is just the talked about music-centric gadget of this century. The arrival of the Revolutionary iPod

2001 was the watershed year when Apple launched the iPod into the entertainment sector. It was the very first MP3 player with an astounding storage volume - 5 gigabytes which quite uncommon at its time of inception. In 2007, when six generations of iPod have already been launched the revolution could only improve. From watching movies to playing games and viewing slideshows of ones preferred photographs in color, sequentially; all this was possible and more. The sublime increase in the storage capacity of the iPod is intriguing; from 5 to 160 gigabytes, is no mean accomplishment for a media device that is portable and easy-to-carry to boot.

The sheer number of songs that can be stored in a 160 gigabytes iPod tallies to 40,000 songs! In contrast you can only stock up 20,000 tracks for the 80-GB model. The presence of a search function assists you in finding songs, artists and albums without much hassle. iPod plays most media audio file formats such as the MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF and Audible audio files.

iPod is undoubtedly the best-selling media device in the whole of United States. Of course there are competitors such as the Zen Portable Media Center from Creative. However most buyers tend to go with iPod chiefly because its storage capacity is higher than its other competitors; for instance, the portable media device that is available from Creative can offer you only 20 gigabytes of hard drive space. Size and form are also significant aspects - the classic 80 gigabytes iPod is very light, and has a weight of 4.9 ounces or 140 grams, with a size of half an inch or 1.4 centimeter.

One feature that has great appeal and popularity is the Apple click wheel, which most people enjoy. Operating on the touch mechanism it helps to make commands so much simpler to steer. Move your thumb to enjoy a great variety and range of entertainment; it has become that easy.

Small in size yet enjoy its technological brilliance.

The iPod has become famous because of its coziness. It’s just so easy to use. The essential tasks of play, rewind, and fast forward are easily performed. It has been designed keeping in mind the need of a sleek model. The very simplicity and yet basic functionality endears it to its users. The hardware consists of storage, click wheel and battery.

The iPod might be small but it is easily available! Nearly all musical appliance stores, would stock an iPod. And of course now we have many varieties of iPod for example, the classic iPod, the iPod Nano and the iPod shuffle. Each and every one of them has a flash memory or a mini hard drive in which you could stock more or less all your much loved music.

iTunes and other Websites where Download Music is an option.

These days, music is easily available. If your local music store is not stocking what you happen to be looking for, then it’s sure to be available somewhere online, and you can just download it from sites like Esnips and Limewire. Another sure-shot alternative is iTunes; where you can purchase music because of its status as Apple’s online music and video shop.

Once you have finished downloading the music in your iPod, you could copy the audio files or the videos on the computer, following this by burning it in your CD-R or CD-RW.

Users cannot stop praising the iPods general excellence. If you need more information pertaining to the iPod searching the Internet on further updates and features would be a good idea.

The history of ipod

The first iPod was released by Apply just five years ago, but the difference between the iPod then and the one released in 2006 is surprising.

First generation iPod:
This iPod was launched towards the end of October 2001 with dimensions to beat the competition. It was 4” high and less than 3” wide and weighed about 6 oz. This iPod had a 5GB memory which could contain up to 1000 songs. It also has a high-resolution screen and a groundbreaking control system: the click or scroll wheel. At $400, it was thought to be an expensive buy and at this point of time, the software needed to run the iPod was available on the Mac only.

Second Generation iPod:
This iPod had the benefit of being compatible with personal computers through a FireWire cable. The iPod was accessible to more users now because there were software which allowed it to be used with Windows. The iPod itself changed very little though. The scroll wheel became a solid fixture rather than a spinning wheel and there was an additional port for the attachment of the FireWire cable.

Third Generation iPod:
The spring of 2003 saw the increasing popularity of the iPod. An important change to the newest generation was the ability to link it to a personal computer with a USB cable. The USB port was more common on PCs than the FireWire port and thus, a lot more people could use the iPod with their PCs. Additionally, the third generation iPod had a bigger memory at 20GB and solid function button below the screen.

At this time, Apple alos launched the iTunes Music Store and this offered a legal source of thousands of songs. iPod became a runaway hit ever since this time.

Fourth Generation iPod: Apple kept releasing newer upgraded models of the iPod and toward the end of 2003, the first of the fourth generation iPods was launched. The iPod mini as it was called was small and beautiful. Everything was controlled by the scroll wheel and it did not have any function buttons. It was only half the size of the original iPod. The screen of the iPod mini was also smaller.

The ipod photo emerged with a color screen, a longer battery life, a larger had drive with the capability to show album covers and color photos.

Fifth generation iPod: The iPod video is the latest offering of Apple. It can play music videos, films, TV programs, and stuff downloaded from the iTunes Music Store. This iPod has all the features of the iPod nano but its dimensions are bigger anf the screen is also bigger.

How do ipods work?

Learning how to use an iPod is quite easy and you can figure out how it works quite fast. You will possibly not learn all there is to know about it right away, but you can definitely learn how to upload and listen to music on your iPod. The use of an iPod is almost synonymous with use of iTunes. You have to download iTunes to your computer in order to use the iPod.

You have to be familiar with the keys of the iPod before you learn how to use the iPod. You have to turn on the iPod. Press any key on the iPod and it will turn on. You can use the wheel to move between the menus. You have to tap on the click wheel a bit and you will see the menu. You can just go through the menu and then tap the middle of the wheel in order to use a certain item on the menu. You can then return to the main menu by pressing the click wheel up.

There are many sources from where you can get music files. You can have some existing mp3 songs on your computer or you can rip songs from CDs. You can also buy songs and albums from the iTunes music store. The important thing is to load all the songs to iTunes so that you can transfer them to your iPod whenever you wish to.

Ensure that you have an internet connection when you want to load songs from your CD to iTunes. Insert the CD into your computer and then open iTunes. You now have to click the import button in iTunes and wait for the process to finish.

In the case of mp3 songs, you have to open the folder where the songs are located and then drag the particular songs you wish to add to an open iTunes window. You will know when a song has been added when it is shown b a plus sign.

When iTunes is open, connect the iPod to your computer through the USB. You can find the sync iPod button from the file menu. The songs on your iTunes will be loaded to your iPod when you click on that button. Do not click other iTunes buttons on the first sync as this may create problem later. You can change the settings to what to sync with your iPod when you have data apart from songs on iTunes.

You have to practice suing the click wheel so that you can use the iPod with ease from now on. To navigate through songs on your playlist, you usually have to click to the right for the next song and the left for the former song.

Play ipod on computer

The iPod is the favorite gadget of all music enthusiasts. It is not only ergonomic but also has a wonderful storage device which is up to 160 GB. It is portable and can be carried anywhere you wish to go. You can take it to work, to school, on a picnic, or even curl up in bed with the iPod if you do not wish to play it aloud. You can also connect your iPod to your computer to play it.

Fast uploading of music with iTunes:

If you have an Apple Mac, you can upload up to 1000 songs from your iPod with the help of iTune, which is an in-built software. You can upload your digital music collection with all the different playlists you have in less than ten minutes. Everyone who uses an iPod will recommend it for this reason.

All that you have to do is connect your iPod to your personal computer and all the music in your iPod will automatically be transferred to your Mac.

iPod stores its content through a database. iTunes copies the content to a hidden directory structure and then updates the database which is stored inside the iPod. iTunes uses this database and the iPod interface to register and index the content.

Transportable music system:

Apart from music, you can upload photographs, videos, etc. which you have downloaded on your iPod to your computer. You have to plug the USB port of the iPod to the computer and then you can see movies, make a presentation with all your favorite photographs, and share the photos and movies with your friends.

Two tasks at one go:

Try to remember that you can transfer audio files between a Mac and a PC only when your iPod is Windows-formatted so that your Mac or your PC can access it. If your computer is not formatted to Windows, you have to use a program like MediaFour’s MacDrive in order to use your iPod on both Windows and Mac.

iPod users can connect their iPod to the iTunes library. The problem arises when they delete a few songs from the iTunes library by mistake and then want to retrieve those songs from their iPod. This such a  case, iTunes automatic sync will run routinely because they share the same database.

iPod users are lucky because iTunes has a solution for this problem. You have to hold down the CTRL+SHIFT keys (Windows) or OPT+CMD keys (MAC) when the iPod is connecting to the computer. Hold those keys down till the iPod shows in the source list of iTunes. This will prevent iTunes from running any kind of automatic sync when the iPod is detected by it, but the iPod will be connected and ready to be used.

Free mp3 for my ipod

If you want free mp3 music files for your mp3 player or your iPod, but you do not wish to do anything illegal, there are certainly some other alternatives apart simply waiting for iTunes to release their weekly free mp3 song. You do not have to ignore copyright and start using P2P file sharing networks. There is actually a lot of free music on the internet which you can take. You simply have to know where you can look for it.

Creative Commons songs which are licensed is one excellent source of legal and free music. Many new artists make their songs available for free downloading in the hope of getting some new fans. You don’t have to worry about going through tons of horrible music to get to the good songs. There are other music enthusiasts like you who go through the various songs and post reviews on blogs or music podcasts along with the mp3 file of the song they are reviewing. You can listen to the song and also read the review or an interview with the artist on these websites.

There is a lot of good music on the internet which you can listen to and you can come across great new artists all the time. Facebook and MySpace are also good places to look for new bands and artists. Many music artists have MySpace pages with an audio player so that you can listen to their music on the net and then you can go to their official website to find out if they also make their music available for free download so that you can listen to them on your iPod.

Are you wondering how this works out for you? Well, in a few words, Creative Commons is a substitute for the usual copyright formulation of ‘All Rights Reserved’. Artists might decide to release their songs with ‘Some Rights Reserved’. There are many licensing options to choose from and Creative Commons strikes a compromise between ‘All Rights Reserved’, where all artistic output is governed by bureaucracy, financial arrangements and negotiations to decide how someone else may make use of it, and ‘Public Domain’, where there are no rights and the object is freely available to all.

There are several music podcasts which use Creative Commons licensed music to bring some of the newest kind of music to listeners and they also make it easier to find good music to listen to if you have some other person doing the sifting for you. You have to remember that the big names in music today also started out unknown. You can start listening to the new music you find in Creative Commons, and you may be the one to discover the next big hit!

The New Apple iPhone - Blessing or Curse?

by: Darlene Hull

In just a single weekend, Apple Inc. managed to sell over 500,000 units of its new Apple iPhone. The anticipation was huge, and while there were a few minor glitches - mostly resolved now - the general consensus is that they were worth waiting for.

The advance of this micro-technology in the form of cell phones, mp3 players, PDA’s etc., is creating an amazing dependency on pocket-sized devices, and not just for the techies: stay-at- home-moms, children, even retired grandparents are jumping into the new trend with joyful - and addictive - abandon. We’ve come a long way, baby!

With all this advancement, however, there is still this minor niggle in the back of my brain that is forced to ask, “but is it really safe?” The verdict is still out on this one, with no one so far able to categorically say that this huge increase in brain and eye cancer is NOT related to cell-phone use; that this little hand-held device and the cell phone towers that power it are NOT causing an increase in autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and that these are NOT the issue behind increased infertility, new learning disorders, mysterious illnesses, or even confused bees that can no longer find the hives they’ve just left. Ipod Cases

by: Kelvin Hall

As we’ve seen, the design and manufacture of iPod cases is in itself a growth industry. The first crop of cases is the “Hope” line, in which $3 of each of the seven models sold—including the Remix Metal and Sport Armband for iPod nano—will go to the Susan G. The difference between high-quality and low-quality iPod cases is generally apparent pretty quickly: fit and finish, materials, and “feel in the hand” tend to be a lot better on the higher-quality cases. The detailing on the cases is particularly charming, with some of them having divine little touches such as satin bows, felt buttons, flowers, or embroidery.Handmade cases can command a price premium over standard cases, and branded fashion a premium over even handmade cases. There are so many protective cases for your iPod that wading through the options can be daunting and the range of iPod cases is too wide, seductive and cost effective to be neglected.
